Greetings, this is day 21 out of 24 of reading the Bible with Darren!
Faith in the Face of Uncertainty;
Luke 21
Have you ever face uncertainty? Perhaps there are some things in your life that are uncertain. I certainly have experienced it. But one thing is true that I believe is Jesus. He’ll always be there, in my life and in your life when you believe.
In Luke 21, Jesus speaks of future tribulations, warning His disciples of persecution, wars, and calamities. Yet, amidst these prophecies, He offers hope and assurance in His Name. Jesus’ call to “possess your souls” through patience reminds us that perseverance and trust in Him are essential, especially in times of uncertainty. Jesus does not promise the absence of hardship, we live in a fallen world, but Jesus assures us that throughout these troubled time, we can trust in Him to provide for us and deliver us.
This passage encourages us to remain steadfast, even when life seems overwhelming. Like the widow who gave her last two coins (Luke 21:1-4), we are reminded to trust God wholeheartedly, knowing He sees us and desires us to have a loving relationship with Him.
-John 3:16 NKJV
When I was a child, around 6 years old; I wasn’t living the lavish lifestyle that I am today. Everything was just enough-my parents weren’t rich, nor am I. I had a saving jar, three of them filled to the brim with money, and one day the pastor at my church lead the congregation and tells us that they’re building another church and there is an opportunity to give.
What does little me do? Well he gives, one day without his parent knowledge that little boy went down the apartment and went to a convenience store, he exchanges his savings jar with a larger bill. At that time, my family was in a dire situation, and I had a choice to make. To help my family or give to the church. And if you can guess, I did the latter. I prayed and ask Jesus whole heartily, what would Jesus do? (WWJD)
I felt moved to give to the church, so the next day after my parents’ agreement and prayer, I went to give. The value wasn’t a lot, but the heart that gives is.
Giving is at the core of God heart (John 3:16), and He loves when we give out of the joy and abundance of our heart.
And not even the next day, someone from who knows who transfer money to my parents’ bank account, and it was enough to provide food and living for that month; I’ve felt blessing from God, and my family felt it too. Throughout that day onward, the blessing keeps on giving. My faith in Christ Jesus never stops, and I still give till this day. And I’ve never felt more blessed than ever.
My whole life has been giving from God, I’ve put my trust in Him alone, and no one else. Yes, there are ups and down situations after that, but I know whom to trust from that day onward. His timings are always right. If six-year-old me can trust Jesus to provide for my family; (and He did) you should too!
I hope this sharing of my life can bless you abundantly too.
